Hi,

I just wanted to know if only the MAS members can attend this? Is it not allowed to non MAS members?

Thanks

It is described in the first positing as a Public Star party. Anyone can attend. You might have to pay for parking. Ask at the observatory when you get there if you do not speak to a park person when you drive in.

I want to thank everyone who came out to ELO last night and helped with the star party. It was cold and hazy, but well enough to view the eclipse and get some pictures. We had a crowd of about 150 that were treated to warm cider and cookies. It was odd to see the classroom as full as it was the entire night as people waited out the cold between a glimpse through the telescopes.

We also had a dozen or more brave people setting up their own scopes for viewing and imaging the eclipse.

Thanks Dave F, Bob, Lilah and Chris, Deane, Ahmed, Doug, Steve B and Dave S as well as anyone I might have forgot. Dave F gave a couple of presentations on the moon, Deane & Lilah brought the cider and Dave S got the plaza, walk and driveway cleared of snow.

Thanks everyone

Merle
